Has Anyone Seen the Invisible Man?

Hi. It’s Tarot again. No, I’m not referring to the lovely 1933 film. I’m referring to, well I guess I could call him my friend, Claude Rains. He seems to be missing. I should have figured that out when I went out to the grocery store and was actually able to purchase alcohol. Then there was the fact that the 24 pack of beer that I bought specifically for Claude hasn’t been touched. Claude loves beer, so if it’s untouched he’s not here or even anywhere near here. It looks like I’m back to searching for Claude again. If what few dreams I have had are anything to go on, I suppose I should start looking for Claude in England, but, to increase my chances of success, I decided I was gonna need some help.

While most of the flock are elsewhere, a few of the pigeons that Claude used to take care of tend to crop up every now and again. One of those is Clyde. He really seems to be taken with me. Fortunately I don’t have too much to pack from the hotel I’m in. I’ve never been your typical girl. I got most of what I really need in one suitcase. Packed my toiletries in it too. Oh I kept the room too, just in case Claude came back while I was looking for him. That would be so like Claude to show while I’m out looking for him elsewhere. I was hoping Clyde would be of some help in assisting me with finding Claude.

I’m not a nervous flyer, but I knew it wasn’t safe to have Clyde try to follow on his own. Getting a cage for him wasn’t hard, nor was convincing him to get into it. Dealing with airport security and getting Clyde veterinary credentials, that was hard. It took a bit more cash than I’d have liked but I managed to get Clyde his own version of a passport. I don’t think he’d have liked being quarantined and that would have really slowed me down. As soon as we landed I bought a map. I’ve never been to England before and if Claude is here, he’s really the only contact I have… and he’s the one I’m looking for. Irony that.

I started my search near the famous bridge. It’s lovely and I’m sure Claude could find some lovely places to hide in and around it. I also started combing the bars… I mean pubs. I tried to take it easy on the drinking, as getting trashed now wouldn’t help. I figured if I could make it up to the bartender without being stopped that was a good sign that Claude probably wasn’t there. Either that or if he was there, he was too trashed to care.

Not that I really expected to find Claude there, but I thought I should check out the London Eye, just in case, plus it has a lovely areal view. The first ride I took on it, Clyde went a bit crazy on it with “talking” and what not but he stayed with me, perched on my shoulder. I’m still not sure what to make of that. I rode a second time but Clyde acted like he wanted to leave that time. I got off and Clyde seemed to want to go to Trafalgar Square. Fortunately he kept looping back so I could follow but once I got there I didn’t see anything of note. I really hope Claude is OK, wherever he’s gotten to. I suppose with my gift I’d know if he wasn’t…

It’s probably not the best move between Claude being invisible most of the time and likely trying to lay low even if he isn’t but I brought an 8 X 10 of him with me. I hope I find him soon. I miss him. :”(

<---Has anyone seen this man? *sigh* I think I’m gonna cry.

  1. Come to think of it, I miss Claude’s pigeons more than I miss Claude.

  2. I think I killed one of Claude’s pidgeons
